Nor'easter! (Maine term for a big snowstorm)

Well, the woodstove has been fired up and there's no work to be done today as we can see, looking out the window at the blowing wind, mounting snow drifts and poor chickadees trying to get seeds out of the feeders.  In the meantime, Sluggo, sleeps in front of the computer monitor while I try to write something interesting for today's post.

Bob says they did get the last two windows in and some trim done yesterday, so hopefully, not too much of the blowing snow will get in to the cottage.  In the meantime, it's a good opportunity to write about something else, so I did a wee bit of searching and found a good site showing some good hiking paths not too far away in what is called  "The Bold Coast" in Cutler, Maine.   It's about an hour's drive through some of the most beautiful, wooded areas of Downeast, Maine.

The Cutler Coast Public Reserved Land, is a 12,334-acre part of the state with some beautiful views, not only of the rocky coastline, but some gorgeous areas of wooded hiking paths.

Sunrises and Sunsets overlooking the Bay of Fundy can be a photographer's dream!

It's a short 2.7 mile hike along the coastline but, if you're already up that far, you're pretty close to the Canadian Border which, unfortunately, right now is closed.  However, you might want to bring your passport with you, just in case things loosen up and you might like to visit Campobello, Franklin D. Roosevelt's getaway.

So, as you can see, there's lots of hiking opportunities, not to mention, biking, kayaking, tasty lobsters and just spending quiet, free time with the family.

Stay tuned for more! 👍😊
