The birch trees are slowly beginning to turn their beautiful autumn color and the nights are getting cooler despite the warm daytime temperatures. As an early riser, I can step out onto the deck and take a deep, cool breath of fresh air and realize that the autumnal season is soon to arrive. The hummingbirds are feasting away on the sweet water in their feeders and, according to my journal, they tend to head south every year, usually around the third week in September. I will be sad to see Ms Mable heading out on her way, perhaps to a beautiful Caribbean island, to spend her winter there amongst the palms. Sigh, I wish we could join her!
Anyway, I digress. It's been a very busy first season for us and, already, we are slowly getting bookings for the 2023 season!
With that in mind, we've already begun making plans for next season, and as I was shopping in Brewer, I found a beautiful set of Amish made, outdoor chairs and side tables. Next year, we're planning on having an outdoor firepit just outside of the screened in deck so our guests can enjoy a nice evening sitting next to the woods and making s'mores!
