Well, things are beginning to slow down a bit up here in Maine. A lot of the tourist's kids are heading back to school and foot traffic isn't quite so frightening in Bar Harbor! Gratefully, those folks who chose to stay here in "the quiet side of Acadia" have let us know how relaxing it has been to come back to Winter Harbor after a long day of enjoying the sights and scenes of Acadia National Park. Some guests enjoyed the daily ferry ride to Bar Harbor and some preferred to drive over, even though they may have had to look far and wide for a place to park!
At any rate, the beauty of Maine never fails to impress most folks and they enjoyed the ocean views from atop Cadillac Mountain, the wild waters of Thunder Hole, and the many wonderful woodland hikes. Of course, there's plenty to see and do right here on the Schoodic Peninsula and not to mention the beautiful drives up and down the coast!

So, when you start thinking about where you and the family would like to go on vacation next year, staying on the quiet side of Acadia National Park might be just the ticket!
And, Acadia Woodland Cottage welcomes you!
