Some "sunny" photos of Acadia National Park!

I desperately needed some sunshine in my life today and it seems Mother Nature is not cooperating!  So, I took it upon myself to do some research on our wonderful Acadia National Park's hiking trails.

Some Of The Most Beautiful Hiking In Trails In Maine’s Acadia Don’t Feature Summits But Coastline Instead

Acadia National Park is one of the most defining features of Maine. As New England’s only national park, it is an obvious choice for those who love nature and the great outdoors of the region. Simply driving along Park Loop Road is a great way to see it, but hiking is another sure way to visit some of the most notable spots. While we love the mountain views, there’s something to be said for the routes that include the downeast craggy coastline. To see the best of those views, try some of the best coastal hikes in Acadia National Park.

June Weather

Well, it started out beautifully with warm weather and then a couple of 80+ degree days which was nice but a  wee bit too warm for me!  Then, Mother Nature decided to be nice to the growing trees and plants and is giving us a whole week of breezy, rainy, cloudy days!  Sheesh, make up your mind Ma!

On the positive side, the trees are finally filling out with that beautiful, light green color that spring brings us.  The lupins are beginning to bloom in the glorious colors of purple, pink and white and the lilacs are so full of blooms this year that one can smell their aroma from a long ways away!

We finally got the propane fire pit ready on the side of the cottage so guests can enjoy sitting outside in the cooler evenings.  The Amish made cedar chairs and side tables make it nice and cozy around the fire.

I was making a wild flower garden earlier and had gotten quite a few plantings done before the rain started.   As I was moving the beautiful pink granite rocks, I suddenly found quite a few more and started digging a newer section of the garden.

I'm anxious to continue digging out the larger rocks and planting things in the newer section of the garden.  In the meantime, it just looks like a bomb went off!  Ah well, I have plenty of time to figure out a plan and there are lots of maple and spruce seedlings popping up all over now that they finally have rain.

The perennials on the side of the house are finally greening up too.

All in all, things are going well and I have two more weeks to get things ready in the gardens so I hope the weather improves and I can get back to digging in the dirt!  😂

We are booked into the first week of September and the weather is typically great around then, so if you're wanting to come visit the quiet side of Acadia National Park, you might want to start thinking about booking with us!

You can check us out on VRBO # 1713662.  We have lots of information and photos there.

In the meantime, we hope you have a wonderful summer and hope to hear from you soon!

We'll keep the lights on for Ya!

Cheers,
Bob and Sandy
