The sun is shining and the temps are in the upper 50's today so I stopped by to see how things were coming along at the Cottage. Bob and Jeff had gotten the front porch done and were now working on what will be the screened in deck.
Last week we had seen some great rocking chairs at Marden's for a really good price, so we bought two to put on the deck which will overlook the peaceful woods and the flower gardens that I have on my list of things to do later this spring! Hopefully, I'll be able to find lots of perennials that are deer resistant as we seem to have a family of them in the neighborhood.
I've done most of the indoor work of cleaning, staging, hanging pictures, etc, etc, and as things progress, adding the newer photos to our VRBO listing. So far, we are booked for all of June, July and half of August, which pretty much takes care of most of the "family" reservations since most kids will be heading back to school in August. Then, September will bring those folks who prefer the quieter months in Bar Harbor, while October will bring the "leaf peepers". We are keeping fingers crossed that this will be another good year for tourists.

There's still lots of outdoor work to do and I'll be working as often as possible to clear the yard of downed branches, trimming and fertilizing the spruces and just generally doing what I love to do, which is gardening and watching the beautiful, colorful flowers come in to bloom over the summer.
